We hold various accreditations, such as ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems, which help to demonstrate our commitment to environmental good practice and reducing our impacts on the environment through the actions we take.
As issued by the Environment Agency, we operate a fully licensed waste treatment facility which permits the receipt and processing of various waste materials, such as redundant electrical equipment, demolition waste, oils, gases, hazardous materials and more. Where practicable, these waste materials will be processed with the aim of at least 90% of materials being recovered and look to prevent materials being sent direct to landfill wherever possible.
We are also a registered Upper Tier Waste Carrier / Broker / Dealer and can transport waste on both behalf of our Clients, and that generated by our activities. All waste which is removed from sites will be accompanied by Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note or Hazardous Waste Consignment Note. We can also remove and transport materials which are deemed hazardous under the requirements of ADR.
Some of the specialised hazardous waste materials which we are authorised to treat and handle are Cable Oil, PCB Oil and SF6 gas.
Cable De-oiling and Removal Works
Including de-oiling, purging and flushing of oil filled cables, de-gassing of gas filled cables. Subsequent recovery of redundant cables from all situations is also undertaken. Where required, we can also seal cable ends which are to remain in place and cap cables off with plumbed metal caps or heat shrink caps.
SF6 De-gassing and decontamination
Where redundant equipment containing SF6 has been identified as needing to be disposed of, we have trained and experienced operatives who can safely remove and handle SF6. Operatives use specialised equipment to remove and recover SF6 and, where necessary, can also de-contaminate ex SF6 filled equipment.
We can also install new SF6 Gas as per Client requirements.
PCB Analysis, Removal and Disposal
Sampling and analysis of oil can be undertaken as required to help determine whether oils contained within equipment are PCB contaminated. Where this is identified as being PCB contaminated, we can remove and dispose of PCB oils and contaminated materials.
